Interaction Design Book

The Process of Interaction Design

During our research we came across this book which has been helpful to us; it explains the concepts and frameworks around interactive design and ideas of what the audience want from an interactive experience.

The Interaction Design book (2007) states:

The process of interaction design involves four basic activities:
1. Identifying needs and establishing requirements for the user experience.
2. Developing alternative designs that meet those requirements.
3. Building interactive versions of the design so that they can be communicated and assessed.
4. Evaluating what is being built throughout the process and the user experience it offers.

The book also discusses frameworks introduced to interactive design in order help designers constrain and scope the user experience for which they are designing. These frameworks offer advice to designers as to what to design or look for. The Interaction Design book (2007) states:

'The framework is simple but effective: it provides a powerful visualization, making explict the relationship between how a system should function, how it is presented to the users, and how it is understood by the users'.
